Manhole Covers of Ojai, Ventura County, California

Ojai is a small rural city in central Ventura County in a small valley, Ojai Valley, surrounded by rugged mountains.   The City of Ojai, first called Nordhoff, was incorporated in 1917, and currently has a population of about 8,200 people.   Tourism is the largest industry in Ojai, and some event is happening in Ojai just about every single weekend of the year, with the most famous being the Ojai Tennis Tournement and the Ojai Music Festival.   The Coast Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia) tree is an icon for the city, and the dominant native tree of Ojai and the Ojai Valley.   Two highways pass through Ojai, State Routes 33 and 150, with SR150 passing through downtown (Ojai Avenue).   Ojai is my home, first moving here in 1972, with a few years in between in other cities.
