Manhole Covers of Salinas, California

Salinas occurs in the northeast portion of the Monterey County in central California.   It is a crossroads community and center of agriculture.   John Steinbeck spent much time here.

Salinas is a large city of 148,350, founded in 1867 and incorporated in the 1874, and is the county seat.   It is at an average elevation of 59 feet above sea level.

U.S. Highway 101 and State Routes 38 and 183 pass through Salinas.   Additional information about Salinas can be found at Salinas Info and the City's official site.
