Santa Monica is large coastal city south of the Santa Monica Mountains and north of Ballona Creek, facing the Santa Monica Bay/Pacific Ocean.   Santa Monica had a population of 87,664 in 2008, consisting of 78.3% Whites, 7.3% Asians, and 13.4% Hispanics.   The Santa Monica Pier is a major tourist attraction.   The city of Santa Monica came into existance in 1880, and incorporated as a city on 30 November 1886.   State Route 1 (Pacific Coast Highway [PCH]) passes through Santa Monica, and I-10 runs on its south side. The movie "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World", and many others, was filmed in Santa Monica, featuring "The Big W", along the bluff next to Ocean Avenue, where all the money was burried.   The median family (household) income is $71,095, well above the national average.   23.8% of Santa Monica residents hold graduate degrees.   Additional information about Santa Monica can be found at Santa Monica Official Site.
I found four varieties of manhole covers in Santa Monica, although I haven't searched the city much at all.
