Cypress Park is a neighborhood community just east of the Los Angeles River in the City of Los Angeles, only 2.5 miles from downtown proper.   It is located at the confluence of the Los Angeles River and Arroyo Seco.   Rio de Los Angeles State Park is located on the west side of Cypress Park.   Cypress Park had a population of 9,764 in 2000, consisting of 4.9% Whites, 11.1% Asians, and 82.1% Hispanics.   Prior to European settlement, Cypress Park was a lush green valley, with the Pueblo de Los Angeles founded adjacent to what would become Cypress Park.   The first American to own land in Cypress Park was Jessie D. Hunter, a Captain in the Mormon Battalion.   The community of Cypress Park came into existance in 1882, now occupying 0.72 square mile.   State Route 110 passes through Cypress Park, and I-5 runs on its west side. The movies, "The Fast and Furious", "Catwoman", and "Date Nite", were filmed in Cypress Park, as well as scenes from the television series "Heros".   The median family (household) income is $39,575, a few thousand higher than for Los Angeles and a few thousand lower then the national average.   Additional information about Cypress Park can be found at Cypress Park Info site.

I found four varieties of manhole covers in Cypress Park.
