Manhole Covers of Malibu, California

Malibu is a famous coastal community that only became a formal city in 1991, with a population of 12,575.   It is the home of many celebrities, including Cher, Barbara Streisand, Johnny Carson [deceased], Dustin Hoffman, Martin Sheen, Danny DeVito, Nick Nolte, and Nancy Breslin.   Malibu is 21 miles long and only a little more than a mile wide.   State Route 1 (Pacific Coast Highway - PCH) is the main road through Malibu.

Malibu is Surf City, U.S.A., even though beach access is blocked for many miles of beach by beachfront property owners.   Most of the houses in Malibu have septic systems, with only the southeastern-most part of the city connected to a sanitary sewer system, resulting in lots of water quality problems in the creeks and beaches.   The per capita income in Malibu is $74,336 with a median family income of $123,293.   Additional information about Malibu can be found at Malibu Info and the Official Malibu website.
